The winner will be selected based on the amount of money raised through the St. Jude website as of Midnight (EST) April 14th AND any cash or checks brought on the day of the ride (April 15th).

UPDATE - The route for the trail ride now includes Gunston Hall the mansion of George Mason itself. Riders will ride through the expansive fields right up to the mansion. This route has been approved only for this ride and a photographer will take free photos. Don't miss this rare opportunity!!

The Mason Neck Horse Coalition is sponsoring for a seventh year a trail ride and mounted scavengers hunt. This year the proceeds from the ride are to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Suggested minimum donation is $25.00 to participate and each rider will receive a participation ribbon.

Check-in at 10:00 am. Ride begins at 10:30 am and riders will ride at their own pace in groups. The trail will cover Pohick Bay Park Regional Park and Gunston Hall and will be marked. It will take about 2 hours (at a walk) and includes some rocky/muddy areas and hills. The ride begins and ends at Pohick Bay Regional Park (trailering instructions are below).

The ride will include a mounted scavenger hunt with prizes!

How Do You Participate?

  1. Register for the ride by contacting Kim Cook at nybornnrzd@comcast.net or 703-314-6265.
  2. Once your registration has been confirmed go to the St. Jude website and begin fund raising:
  3. Download and send in the forms ahead of time or fill them out the day of the ride:
  4. Rider Information Form and Driving Instructions
  5. Ride Waiver/Consent Form - REQUIRED FOR ALL RIDERS, can be downloaded from the St. Jude Website or signed the day of the ride
  6. Copy of negative coggins either mailed in with Rider Information Form or provided the day of the ride is required and will not be returned
