Hannah has been riding with Simple Changes for 7 years now, and she designed this trail ride ribbon. Hannah has cerebral palsy, which makes her have to use a wheelchair to get around. The horse’s movements help her relax and move easier. Currently, she is working on her posture along with using the reins and her body to tell the horse where to go. She continues to eagerly await her weekly lesson.

Simple Changes was founded with the knowledge that riding and caring for horses significantly improves the lives of individuals with physical, emotional and developmental disabilities. Simple Changes currently serves over 50 clients per week at their Lorton and Catlett locations. They offer therapeutic riding, hippotherapy and serve warriors in transition and youth-at-risk. Clients pay only half the actual cost of each lesson; the other half is generated through fundraising efforts including donations, sponsors, grants, and partnerships. Simple Changes is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
